Girly Glam!

I am not going to lie, I'm not supposed to have favourites but this is my favorite reveal to date! The minute I met my client Kelly, I was super excited as I knew we could do something really feminine and soft and just like that my wheels started turning. I love taking my visions for a space and bringing them to life and nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients smile and hearing how much they are enjoying their new spaces.

We started out with  a total bachelor pad and turned it into a very sophiscated, girly glam space. Here are a few pics of the space before we started our girly glam reno!

After viewing the space and meeting with Kelly, I was excited to get started. From the moment she told me she wanted a really feminine space, immediately I thought of creams, warm soft greys, hits of gold and silver and pops of coral. We started off  by having the entire house painted in shades of soft grey. We had the kitchen & bathroom cabinents sprayed out in warm light greige tone. Even though they are light and soft, they still have depth. The colour really sets off the new cesarstone countertops & beautiful backsplash. The backsplash is a stunner, we did a long textured subway tile and an accent wall in the most beautiful abalone pearl penny tile! We also added new hardware and pendant lighting, which just pulls it all together!

In her living room we really went with it -you'll see hits of brass and silver and pops of coral tones. I think it just looks gorgeous, we chose beautiful fabrics for throw pillows which really ties it all together. The drapes really pop  and frame the room. The new cream slip chairs and brass coffee table really add some interest to the space. I love mixing metals together, so don't be afraid to try it in your space as you can see from the pictures below they really look great together. We had Mango Reclaimed restyle her amoire, dining table & dining chairs in our coral, cream and grey palette with Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint and I think you'll agree they look absolutely stunning.

We also updated the powder room and main bathroom as well. The powder room really reflects the color scheme of the main floor, we added  a new sink & faucet, cesarstone countertops and new hardware. Along with a new mirror and accessories I think it is now a super cute space. We also updated the main bathroom which is mainly used by our client's daughter she wanted a soft pink and grey pallet. We used greys, creamy whites and soft pinks in both her bedroom and bathroom. We opted for a marble looking cesarstone countertop and sprayed out the cabinents in warm light colour and added new hardware and a gorgeous new mirror to pull it all together.

To tie it all together, in the hallway we added some vintage frames that were restyled by Mango Reclaimed in a beautiful coral color and metallic gold guilding paste was added to give them some glam and depth. We utilized the clients exsisting table and added a beautiful lamp and some accessories to add some storage and interest in the hallway.

I absolutely adore this space and wouldn't mind living there myself... You don't mind if I move in with you Kelly do you?

I hope you all enjoyed this tour of our latest project as much I enjoyed sharing it with you all. As always I'd love to hear what you think so send us an email or leave a comment below!!

Before & After

So we started this project the way we start every project with a vision board and some inspiration. My inspiration for this one came directly from our client Tammy, who is one of the sweetest ladies I've had the pleasure of working with!

Her space had great bones already to start with (I've added some pics below), so I knew this would be a fun and beautiful transformation.

I could tell immediately how much family meant to her as she explained to me how they gather at her house every Tuesday night to have dinner together and catch up. She also explained to me that she frequently had her granddaughter over and had another one on the way. So I knew the space had to be beautiful, functional and child friendly. So everything we did was done with her family and grandchildren in mind. We had the her dining room furniture lovingly restyled in chalk paint by Mango Reclaimed. I added a beautiful vintage looking chandelier from a local shop and brass shelving from pottery barn. We also added a bar cart for extra storage.  I recovered the chairs in a pinstripe cream and navy fabric and choose some beautiful ready made drapes in our accent colour mustard yellow. I think it came together beautifully- what do you think? Take a look at a few pics below...

The space also had to house a lot more storage than she had currently, as with any older home storage space is always at a minimum especially when you take down walls and remove cabinents. Take a look below at some clever ways we added some more storage to her space.  I added a new custom upholstered ottoman from urban barn that opens and now she can store all of her grandkids toys. I also selected a vintage sideboard from Mango Reclaimed's awesome inventory and had Melanie restyle it in zeplin which is a lovely rich grey colour-I think it turned out perfect. It not only looks great but is also good for housing all of their components for their tv and other items that you don't want to see out on display. We also recovered her couch in a grey textured fabric which  I sourced and had custom throw pillows made to accent it.

I  definently can not forget to talk about the beautiful flooring we choose for this space, it is a pre oiled hardwood floor made in Quebec! It is absolutely stunning, it has a great feel and will never have to be sanded ever! Every ten years you simply apply an oil to bring it back to life! I love that has it has a great blend of dark and light tones and gives a really elegant yet rustic and timeless look. We also added a beautiful  oversized porcelain tile that looks like marble to the front entrance way and had it laid in staggered angle pattern.

Last but definently not least is this kitchen... Wow what a difference! We replaced the countertops with a beautiful cesarstone counter. It looks like marble but is much more durable and functional for everyday living. We added a marble mosaic backsplash and had the oak cabinents sprayed out in a beautiful grey colour. I added hints of antique brass with pulls and knobs. I also added an island that gives her more counter space but also provides storage below but still keeping it light and airy.  As with any small space you want to keep it as open as possible so you don't feel closed in. The pendant lighting is spectacular, I love the mix of black, white and brass it just pulls everything together!

Sorry for such a long post but it was so hard not to share with you every nook and corner of this reno... I just adore everything thing about it and there are so many little touches, I could go on and on and on!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do and we'd love to hear what you think so don't be afraid to post a comment or send us an email at info@theinspirationnest.com
